As I said my riders and I would expect and have found bad ones in engines which had tar more than oil and of course water will ruin most chains.
I vote conservative and have since I could first vote.
I desire my government to leave me and my $$$$ alone plus any medical and retirement $$ I earned while I worked for a living.

I have replaced the chain on my '67 and I found some really bad chains in several engines. Indeed also engines with wear on the clutch cover, and on the shift spindle (from the chain).
With the chain I also replaced the clutch and primary gear, just a better one, not NOS.

Who think is going to win the elections ?

Hi,

That doesn't sound as a democrat, Sarah Palin conservative ?, or Republican conservative ?

Jensen and I had a great political conversation the other day. We discussed party differences etc. I like to say that I vote with the same hand I use to twist the throttle! :-)

Not to turn this into a political discussion, but I saw a great quote at the bottom of somebody's email the other day.

Fight Organized Crime - vote out the incumbents.

I'm pretty conservative, but I'm also pretty fed up with our fearless leaders in general, regardless of party or platform. I've been telling people that if Hitler was on the ticket running against an incumbent, I'd vote for Hitler.

And to paraphrase Dave, I vote with the same hand that I load with.

regards,
Rob

Hi,

The funny thing in the US is that the democrats are on the left side of the political spectrum.
In the Netherlands the left is called party of the labor, or labor party (Pvda).

Democrats are more centered here, or a little off center to the right side.

Names are just that.
Left and right (liberal/conservative) (democrat/republican) sort of describe an attitude. ..........lm

And that is exactly the way that the non party - the so called Tea Party have played it all along. They tapped into the disgust with politicians and turned that against the Democrats. They very cleverly took the anger with teh last lot in power who turned a surplus into a deficit and grew the largest government spending spree in history and managed to pin it ALL on the new mob. That was rather clever.

Now people want to throw out the government and have forgotten who caused the crisis in the first place. And BTW, I don't believe Dubbya caused the initial problem but he and his team sure ran the place into the ground. The underlying issue is that for decades, Americans have been spending money they do not have and it had to hit the wall eventually. That happened in the time of the last administration and they thought that giving everything to the crooks, that the crooks would look after us. And the current administration realized what the problem was and they also failed to curb the greed of Wall Street.

It will be interesting to see what the R's do if they get enough power. At the moment, politics are about getting power and we have heard nothing about policy. If the do what they claim and cut spending and taxes the unemployment figure will hit 15% or more within 5 years.

Why do we not hear more about the economic issues and less about the scare tactics and over simplification. Who is driving the political machine and where are they trying to take us? Someone is spending 2 billion dollars to try to buy power - who are they looking after - it is unlikely to be you and me.

This is going to be interesting to watch over the next few months - for sure.

BTW, I have no political affiliation. I just like to see people talking about the issues in a polite, informed, intelligent way.
