Hi Teufelziege,

In no way I meant anything bad with that this mail, so please don't take any offence .
I didn't make any comparison with you as a person with these words, and if you feel so, please accept my excuses.

I was interested in your name, and what it would mean. I couldn't find anything close to it.
It's an international forum, and this word sounded a little offensive in itself.

I think that this beer would not be very popular in the Netherlands, because of it's name, in fact I doubt that someone could use this word as a brand name.

My email name is blackbomber, for people who don't no what it is, it's sounding also offensive. I choose this name for the same reason as you, no spam.

LoudMouse, you're right, it's not of my best emails, again, for anyone who feel offended, please accept my excuses.

I did not attempt to humiliate anybody,
but I coul'd have send you a pm instead,

Jensen

Hi teufelziege,

You didn't respond to my reaction on your mail, so I guess you still feel humiliated or offended.
Like I explained in the post, I know that your name has nothing to do with the Nazi's or Hitler.
I also did explain in the post what it meant, and also that spelled this way it was NOT related to Hitler and / or the Nazi's, but means literally devils coat.

I was interested in what this name meant, as it was German. First I looked in your profile, but there was no info in what country you lived. As you know Germany is our neighbor and most of the dutch speak, write and read the German language, so do I.

You have to understand my side of the story, because the pronunciation of the word ziege is exactly the same as siege. I tryed to explain in my reaction on your mail that here in the Netherlands it is the pronunciation which is already offensive to the dutch. As you can figure out, every family here in the Netherlands is somehow connected to that time (1940-1945) in a negative way, also for me.

This is why I got interested in what you meant choosing this name, and I wanted to know what it meant so I looked it up. I didn't know that it was meaning coat, and when I knew this it was a relief to me understanding that your name had no connection with the Nazi's in any way. And that is exactly what I wrote in the mail a little of topic.

I can, however, understand your reactions to that, because now I related your name to the Nazi's or / and Hitler, but I wrote the mail just to disconnect it from that dark part in history. For many Americans it just a name, for some people on the other side of the ocean, it's more then that, especially when you speak German.

You have to realize that not only I but also other dutch people could interpret your name as a sick yoke, because not many people do know the difference of ziege and siege. For all those who are, or could be offended I wrote this mail.

Maybe it was better not to explain in the mail that your name has nothing to do with Hitler or the Nazi's, because not many people where offended not knowing it's pronunciation is so close to the word what it not is.

Again, please except my apologize for writing the mail " a little off topic", I wish I didn't wrote it,

Conbs,
I'm afraid TZ may be out of touch as of some of the last postings. I for one was looking to see a resolve on the issue until it got hi-jacked. He may still be lurking in the shadows out there somewhere, so let's see,,,,,,,,,,, How 'bout it TZ, how about a follow up. RW
