Very Low Compression, need a bore job
Very Low Compression, need a bore jobHello,
I have very low compression to the extent that the motor dies when going uphill. I put my finger over the spark plug hole and turned the crank and the compression is not even close enough to being able to blow my finger off the hole. Therefore, it is my intention to get the cylinders bored out but was wondering if there is a proffered procedure for removing the engine from the frame? Thanks, Matt This is a 1967 Cb77

HeyThank you, it is a 1967 Cb77
Ok, I'm not a hawk owner but they look to be easier to pull an engine than a cl. Unbolt all systems so that just the top two engine mount bolts remain. Support it with a floor jack or extra set of hands, pull the remaining bolts and lower away. Sorry if I missed something here, but it can't be too hard. RW
engine removalOr you could do like I did and prop engine up with a cinderblock, etc., remove all bolts, and get a couple of friends to help lift frame up and away. Easier with wheels and at least front fender removed. Engine will want to tip forward and crunch the front fender.
I'd recommend posting your location as part of your information, this is getting to be an issue with some forum stalwarts. You may also find some other cb77 enthusiasts in your area who can help with your project, or be riding buddies once you get your bike on the road. Good luck and keep us posted, pix are always good.
