I am in need of new tires for my 64 305 dream, it has been in storage for 30 years and only has 4k miles but the tires are starting to look dangerous. I just called Coker and they wont have anything for up to 9 months. Anybody out there find a source for original size/white walls?
Please let me know, I dont want to park it for the better part of a year if I dont have to.

need new tiresI heard two months wait from Universal Tire (who I think buys from Coker). I looked around and the tires from Coker were the only "new" tires available. I found some NOS tires (Pirelli I think) but they were probably 20 years old.. I'm sure they looked ok, but I wouldn't want to ride them.
Can someone post up photos of original tires showing the tread and the width of the whitewall? (doh! search is my friend) I've seen a few different retailers who sell the Coker Firestones, but each time I go to the Coker site I get a virus attack which gets blocked by my AV program....just be prepared.....
From the Honda ads I've seen the whitewalls changed from wide to narrow for the '66 model...don't know if they were stock on all or an option..., maybe someone else knows for sure.

mschehen I searched around for a while again and couldn't find any new leads.. but have you considered getting standard blackwall tires and adding the fake whitewall inserts? They fit into the bead on the rim and glue to the side of the tire.. more info in this thread
