CL 77 Badges...Badges...I neees som stinkin BADGES!

Post by jcspc » Wed Jan 14, 2009 12:10 am

Ok, I have a 65" Scrambler. It came with no badges, I got the metal replacements badges, but I really want to get the proper badges. Are the proper badges for it the black and gold plastic badges with the 300 on the badges or are they black and silver plastic badges with the 300 on them or are they some other plastic badge combo with out the 300 on them or...what?

as i understand it (and i often don't) black and gold with 300 acrylic.

the black and silver acrylic are the product of sun fading.

RRHByrne@aol.com is where you can find a set of decent quality repro badges for $50, including the mounting screws. Look at the "Repop badges on eBay 50 bucks" thread in this forum for some history.

I did contact them and they sent some pics of their badges. They certainly look good and I am now planning on getting them. I just wanted to be sure that I put the proper badge on my bike and it sounds that the black and gold plastic with the 300 are the ones.
Thanks

Reviving an old thread - are there any pics of the repops? Last I recall, they don't look exact, and that's problem for me.

I have one badge that I cracked (go figure - what luck I have) when I dropped my CL77 some 17 years ago. The other badge is perfect, and the bike is 99.99% original, so I loathe to replace what was originally there.

I know there are some exact duplicates that come around from time to time - not sure if these are the ones...if anyone has a pic, please post.

Thanks!

This is an example of Ray's reproduction badge on my CL77 tank.

I bought a pair of Byrne's badges 3 months ago and was very happy the service and quality.
I don't have a set of stock badges to compare them to but they are very good repros with proper screws.
That scene in Treasure of the Sierra Madre is classic.
