That explains the design faults in the pic for sure.
As I've found all the HONDA CL72/77 bikes shipped to the US I don't find a Turn Signal Wire system.
The 1967 CL77 frame did come with a bracket welded to the frame at the left front of the battery mount. (may be possible the wires were there on the 1967 bikes but I can't get to the ones I have)
I do have several of the Re-Pop wire harness which HONDA issued after production of the bikes and the 3 wires are there ...............lm

The first picture is a 1:10 scale model of a domestic CL72. This scale model has winkers. Most scale models, especially from Japanese scale models factory's, are very good copy's of the original.
As there where existing CL72 with winkers, there should be wiring loom's for a CL72 with the winker wiring in it.
As I'm not into CL72 / CL77, I don't know if this winker wires are standard in all CL72 looms.
but if they weren't, there should be wiring harnesses out there with standard wiring in it.

My guess is that the winker relay is mounted with the same bracket as on the CB72, on the main frame pipe, just between the air filters (the bolt is not original).
In the picture it is shown clearly how Honda attached the winker relay to the frame (1962 CB72)

Hi,
With help of others I found out that the winker relay for a CL72 / 77 is attached to the frame directly.
There is a clamp welded to the frame where the winker relay is bolted on. It is not the clamp that I showed in the previous mail. BTW, there are two types of clamps for the CB72 / CB77, one for the early bikes, and one for the later bikes. There are also two different winker relays, but both types relays have the same diameter, so these are interchangeable.

I have several CL72/77 frames/bikes here and have yet to see the welded on bracket on any CL72 and the frames with the welded on bracket are 1967 issued CL77. .........lm

Nice job, Phil. I tend to forget you guys in the US are supposed to carry red rears (winkers, I mean!); is that always the same for two-wheelers?
