i measured the skirt and it reads 2.379-2.381 and my cylinder is 2,383 so i'm good to go with the 050 S2 rings

Teaser, That's pretty much what I was driving at. I don't carry all that technical stuff around with me but once my hands are greasy, I can walk the walk and talk the talk so to speak. Thanks for stepping in with the numbers and such. RW No worries Rusty Wrench. I find it hard to accurately measure bores with anything less than a calibrated bore gauge which I don't happen to have, so I usually just stick a feeler gauge in there to see how much clearance I have.
As long as there is some clearance, but not too much, I'm good to go. How much is enough or too much depends on the pistons and bore size. Small cast pistons might be OK at 2-3 thou, larger forged pistons might need 4-6 and Hepolites need a truck load for some reason. What is too much on a 125 Honda might be way too tight on a T120 Triumph.
