ca77 clutch plates

Looking for friction plates for a 66 dream. This one has 5 plates and two wire rings.

Just found a set. Ohio Cycles has them for 10 bucks ea. $50.00 plus $7.50 shipping.

Would love to know how they work out.
The only oem plates I could find were about $30 each. I assume they were the fiber/metal version.
I did find some all fiber aftermarket online somewhere for a lot less.
There were probably 3 or more versions of the clutch with different thickness plates and different springs.
If you do a search you can find several threads on the subject.
My '66 had all fibers which were slipping (not from wear since they were way thicker than the specs call for).
I ended up with some used re-furbished fiber/metal versions and different springs from LM and they work fine.

I'm going to have to dig through all my old notes. many years ago i researched what alternate plates were available for my race bike and I ended up with a pack of 7 plates in place of the stock 5 and zero clucth slip on a tuned motor.

Not that anyone else needs more plates. The point is that there were other plates available that worked equally well that may be more affordable.

Someone probably has a listing tucked away somewhere that is more up to date than my old notes.

You probably are getting the all fiber plates for that price.

Brewsky, that was my issue also. The 5 plates are thicker than the manual says they should be.
As soon as I can I will get back to you and let you know how they work.
Ohio Cycle is a mail order only business so I am waiting for the mailman!!

Mailman came today! The plates are all fiber. I threw them is a pan of oil for 5 minutes and put them in. Had to
turn the right side adjustment in a bit to remove slack from the cable and did a test ride. Everything seems to be
working properly. Will holler back if any issues arise.
