What are the correct tire sizes, and BRANDS for a 1964ish Super Hawk 250? Particularly the REAR tire.

Thank you,
Mike

They came with 275x18 front and 300x18 rear. I find that Cheng Shin tires are avalable and not expensive.

If you want some that aren't readily available (at least in North America) and expensive you could get Dunlop K82 (aka lightweight K81's) from Wheel House Tyres in the UK -- awesome tires and they look appropriately vintage. For some reason no one seems to bring in the K82's in these sizes (2.75x18 and 3.00x18) into the U.S, unless someone can enlighten me otherwise. Classic Bike Magazine did a test of a few tires last year and they found that these ones and the K81 TT100's were the best value for the quality and security they offer on the road (the K82's are the same tire but in the smaller or 'lightweight' sizes). I can't say that the Cheng Shin's have inspired quite the same confidence as these Dunlops -- of course the Dunlops are about three times the price once you have them shipped here!
