DONT USE BRAKE CLEANER/ CARB CLEANER

Post by DCON » Wed May 05, 2010 4:25 pm

IT STAINS SOOOO DEEP.
WHEN I DID MY HUBS, I USED A DRILL PRESS FOR THE SANDING...WHAT I DID WAS TO PUT A RUBBER CORK ON A DRILL BUFF "SHANK" AND PLACED IT IN THE CHUCK.
THEN I PUT MY AXLE UPRIGHT IN THE VICE (WRAPPED IN A RAG, SO AS NOT TO RUIN FINISH),
PUT MY HUB ON THE AXLE (ON TOP OF SPACER) AND ADJUSTED THE PRESS SO THAT THE RUBBER CORK SPINS THE HUB.
THEN I COULD JUST STAND STILL WITH THE SANDPAPER AND LET THE DRILL DO THE WORK.
YEARS AGO I HAD SPENT MANY HOURS HAND SANDING A HUB AND BOY DO THE WRISTS GET SORE. WISH I HAD TAKEN A PIC. BUT A REAL EASY CHEAP SETUP THAT SAVES SOOO MUCH TIME AND EFFORT. HOPE THIS CAN SAVE SOMEONE THE TROUBLE.
