CL77 Rear Shock Disassembly

Post by BillC » Tue Mar 16, 2010 1:43 am

Could someone describe how to disassemble a rear shock ("cushion" as the Honda manual calls it) on a CL77.

I use a tie down, looped over a beam. Put a long bolt through the top eye on the shock, hook the ends of the tie down on the bolt, and then pull down on the top cover. There is a split ring on top of the cover which can be removed when the spring is compressed. . Make sure to adjust the spring preload ring to softest setting, and an extra pair of hands helps a lot.
