What is wrong with this picture?

Were the plastic the early type or the late ones?

I bought a pair of OEM shocks a couple of years ago and they came with black steel covers. I made the assumption at the time, that Honda were now only supplying in back and only in metal.

The steel top was first.
I'm not sure what year that HONDA changed from the steel to the plastic. ..................lm
