cam chain tensioner wheel refurb reportI have had a couple of idler wheels disintegrate and the results are "interesting" to put it politely.
I have known people to make idler wheels out of a delrin, steel and aluminum. For the small tensioner wheel the best answer is a Z1 toothed wheel on needle rollers, but a long bladed tensioner is preferable to wheels.
blade tensioner !!Photo upper shows a tensioner for 350 cb and another model is adapted to 750,
(even the ajs 7r has a tensioner blade !! ) I will not engage in polemics but I got some wheels broken into pieces , as owner of 5 dreams (cb / cl / c) and the original tensioner is 140 euro without tax and postage and more unreliable why not try to improve this system? I know some conservatives who say that hundreds of cb run with the original system ! ! gods save the queen ! ! I just want to make my bike more reliable , trying to enhance this system for a low cost !! think about !! friendly mike K
The Z1 fix is well known but ya are hard pressed to find them.
Any in stock there?. .........lm

Re: Z1 roller !!My experience over the years is that if the engine is maintained correctly both of the wheels can last many years. (good clean oil and proper adjustment of the cam chain tensioner)
Even today as I disassemble engines I find more good usable than damaged wheels. Of course if ya race the engine ya would want a NOS or may want to design one ya think will handle the stress of high RPM's for long periods. Some engine builders may use aluminum as I was once told years back. ...........lm
