Tires for CB77Tires for CB77Tires for CB77. Anyone have any suggestions what tires I should use and where I can get them? I'm having trouble finding a good solution to the 42 year old ones on the bike.
TiresEmail bill@billsvintagewheels.com for vintage tires. He is located in TN.
Unfortunately our choices are getting slimmer. Cheng Shin just went out of business (though there are probably still tires available for the time being), but you could try Bike Bandit for IRC NR21 tires (available in 3x18). 2.75x18 seems to be the tough size to find (front), though even the 3x18 can be tricky. I usually get my tires from the UK, though even their supplies are getting limited, plus you have to factor in the high cost of shipping. Mitas is another option, but they're about as good as Cheng Shin....depends on how much riding you plan on doing.
Wish I knew someone in T.O. who could help you. Perhaps the CVMG (Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group) might have a list of resources in Canada?
Guess it all depends if you want to maintain the 'vintage' look. The BT39's seem to have quite the modern tread. As well, I just checked Bridgestone's site, and they don't seem to offer that tire in 2.75x18 or 3.00x18 -- I could be wrong though!
