'63 CB77 fork disassembly, help!
'63 CB77 fork disassembly, help!I need to get the Front fork seal housing off for re-chroming and I'm not getting much help from my " Clymer " Can anyone help? There are 4 " knock fork piston pins " if that's what they are, in the housing that look like they need to be removed to get the seal housing off and also to get at the fork seals which also need replacing, Am I right? I could drill them out I suppose but what to replace them with when reassembling. Seems like a pretty difficult situation for something that needs to be periodically replaced or maybe I'm just missing something....any hep would be appreciated. thanks
Thanks Davo...love or money or a pin wrench could not get that sucker lose so I ended up cutting a slot through the threaded portion and then tried the pin wrench and it worked . What a mess! I guess that's what sitting in a carport for 30 odd years will do to you. The internals of the fork look good but the seal housing is in rough shape and I can't get one of the stanchions out of the lower leg for some reason. I think I might leave well enough alone as everything looks good and works smoothly. I hope someone has seals, I'll try my usual sources. On top of the seal is 33 46 10x4. Thanks for your help.
