CB77 Tires
I have been running 300/18 front tyres on my cb77 for the past 40 years and never had any noticeable differences or problems with the handling or fitting. They have been assorted brands and preferred AVON SPEEDMASTERS. I used to get 7000 miles from each rear and 21000miles from the front ribbed one. AVON still produce these tyres but look up the website for sizes. I just run what I can buy now. I even spent a summer with a set of 300/18 trials tyres on the bike.
Leon.
Here's a long shot. Has anyone tried ordering the part number for the tires?
44711-315-009 front tire, 2.75x18, $63. 42711-307-006 rear tire, 3.00x18, $35. If you wanted to try something from a newer bike, a 75 cb200t has the same size stock tire. Front tire is actually the same! 42711-315-009 rear tire, 3.00x18, $26 I wonder what you would get if you did?? I know the guys in the cb160 world still can order the 2.50x18 Bridgestone BT39ss race tires that were stock on the CB50r. 63 cb77 cafe

I just ordered the Cheng Shin c223 (Dunlop f6 copy) ribbed fronts in 2.5x18 and the c180 (Dunlop k70 copy) 3.00 rears. I tried looking for the c906/c907 on 80-100 fronts and 90-90 rears (metzler copies) but I couldn't find them.

I finally got some Cheng Shin tires from a seller on eBay. William Gray, whgray53@aol.com. He has the c128 front in 2.75x18 and the c180 (k70 dunlop copy) in 3.00 or 3.50x18. I got the 3.50.

Hmmm....is that 3.50 going to fit? I have a 3.25x18 Dunlop K82 that was sent to me by mistake from Wheelhouse Tyres a couple of years ago, but decided to hang onto it. I thinking of installing that one on the back, since I need a new rear tire and this 3.25 is just sitting around.
Not sure how much you can push the width of the rear tire when the stock specs call for a 3.00 width.......?
It had a 3.50 before on the stock rim. Others here have a 100mm, which is a 4.00. That must be on a 2.15 wm3 rim maybe. I will be lacing up 1.85 wm2 stock size alloy rims. I also won't have a rear fender or chainguard. I don't see any clearance or interference issue. Actually, the only issue maybe the centerstand. The rear tire MIGHT still touch down.
