Front suspension

Post by masonmart » Sat Dec 12, 2009 3:58 am

I assume that to remove the front forks individualy you remove the top bolt and loosen the pinch bolts on the bottom yoke and if necessary put the top bolt back in and tap the legs out? I've done that but the forks are still stuck in position. I believe that it's simply the pinch section still jamming but am I missing an obvious step that will still prvent the fork legs from dropping out?

Martin, you can try spreading the lower clamp pinch area. I usuall tap a large screwdriver in, after completely removing the pinch bolt, and shooting some penetrating oil in there. i also have a front axle with the smae threads as the top chrome bolt, that can be threaded in, and hit down until fork falls out.
