My cover appears the same as yours is. I recalll reading something about non marked covers for certain years. Cant remember exactly what year or if there was a reason. Sorry its early and I'm way off base.

It's from a CB or a CL. As I'm sure you know, the touring versions, along with one or two sports-framed derivatives -- CYP, CBM -- had Type-2 motors. To my knowledge, most, if not all tourers were fitted with smooth points covers. CBMs seem to be the only Type-2 motor with 'Type 2' cast into the points cover. From what I've read, the police (CYP) variant had a smooth cover. Perhaps Randy can confirm which type his CYP has; if you open the appropriate photo it definitely looks like it has something cast into the cover http://www.honda305.com/forums/viewtopi ... 2f0b778730
