CL77?CL77?G'day all from Down under! ...
Im looking at buying this CL which I believe is a CL77? (total newbie) but have no clue about these bikes. I work for a Honda dealer here in sales (READ: Technically retarded) in Western Australia so getting it looked at will be ideal, but problem is that the bike is over in Victoria (a very long ways away from me) so viewing the bike before buying wont really be an option. I wanted to get the opinion of the forum before I make the jump. Any thoughts/opinions are appreciated. I realise its hard to tell much about the bike from pictures :)... I have asked the seller for higher res pics and a description of the condition/running ability. Are there any questions I should be asking the seller? Anything I should know about owning such a beauty? are they a collectable bike? Link to the sale: http://bikesales.com.au/all-bikes/priva ... &silo=1400
CL77From what I could see in the pics, seems like a pretty nice complete bike. Bars did seem a little low from what I could tell, but...............................Had the correct tail light for a 1966, but the exhaust looked to be from a 1967 with the one piece top pipe/muffler (silencer in your speak). May be just idiginous to your area. Our tanks also had a seam in the top in '67 and chain guards were same color as frames over here. Once again. it may be that way in your area. No idea what the exchange rate is, but the $3200 US would be a very good price. Tool kit? Owners manual? Very few NOS parts are available from Honda any longer, but still lots are available afternarket copies. Hope this helps. Loud Mouse will undoubtedly have more to add as he's much more knowledgeable than I.
CL-77Rolo, the bike looks reasonably correct (- skid plate & frame looks wrong color in picture) depending on how scarce those are over there( I'm guessing pretty scarce) I would think it is a great opportunity for you to acquire that bike and join our little discussion forum. Try and post the frame & engine no.s if you can. BUY IT!!!!! D.
CL77Started looking more closely and saw where the skid plate is missing. (no big deal easily obtained) and word is correct as the rock guard is located under the shift lever. Bike is still nice and easily corrected back to original. I'd buy it for the $$$. ( just happen to have it's brother in my basement) Welcome to the site, lots of great advice/help here.
