Air vents

Post by sprocket » Sat Jul 18, 2009 7:22 pm

Hello!
The vents in question are just below the carbs. I can blow compressed air through the left one and it comes out of the intake valve guide, the other one is blocked. Which is correct and how do I correct the other?
Thanks for your help. Karl

I say "not to bother" as HONDA discontinued them in 1967.
Ya can place a hose from one to the other and nothing bad will happen. .........lm

Air vents

Thank you LM, but now curiosity is getting the better of me. What did these vents supply air to? And I assume ( silly me!) that the blocked one is faulty AND I wanted to add more grief to my life, how would I go about repairing it. Again, thanks for your time. Karl

this is a common question, so a quick search will likely yield more info...

Even though I knew I didn't need to and will possibly make Emo grumpy, I hooked mine to a windshield washer/vaccuum line tee from the auto parts store and ran to spigot on right air cleaner using leftover fuel line. Just because I could, I suppose...

At least I didn't put tubes on carb bowl overflows. That would definitely make Ed grumpy.

OK so in the scheme of things they don't do a thing to improve/decrease the function of the engine.
Work your mind to a frazle and achomplish ")".
