Sudco/Veserah Head gaskets too small?
Sudco/Veserah Head gaskets too small?I just purchased Sudco/Veserah complete gasket kit for the CB77. I was doing a cylinder piston and swap using new 1.0 pistons and freshly bored cylinders. It appears that the pistons are hitting the head gasket. Of course I noticed this after I tried to run it (tick tick tick). The head gasket bores are about 0.03" smaller in diameter than some other makes I have previously used (and not had problems) and it does have a bunch of float on the studs so it can easily be installed shifted. Has anyone else noticed this problem using Sudco/Veserah head gaskets with 1.0 over pistons?
Thanks Greg
I guess I am not 100% sure that it isn't something else, but the registration on the studs would not align it accurately enough to insure that it is exactly lined up on both bores. I pulled the headup a few inches and double checked everything (its a cl77). I doubled checked the valve clearance and that the valves were not hitting the pistins. The bike just got a new cylinder, pistons rings wrist pins and gaskets. The motor before the swap did not make the noise (a ring didn't seat which is the reason for the swap) so the head was not disassembled and the bottom end was not touched either. I am open for suggestions.
Using Vise Grip pliers on the rotor bolt slowly turn the crank through a couple of full cycles.
If it's the head gasket ya will feel the TAP at "T". Been there had that. ..............lm
