hi guys.
this will be my first real question post here, so be gentle.....
67 ca77 dream. one carb. single point ignition. i just adjusted the valves to .004. carb dipped and rebuilt, with stock jets. float height correct.
i havent adjusted the points yet, and i also havent checked the compression, other than putting my finger over the plug hole. seems to have compression, but i will check it tomorrow once the epoxy on my tester adaptor dries.
ok, so on with the question. it was running pretty good, seemed even better after the valve adjust, but now it seems like the left cylinder isnt firing at idle, real weak exhaust pressure when i put my hand up to it. when i give it some throttle it picks up some.
oh, good, fat blue spark at the plug.
i rechecked my valve clearances, if anything they might be a little loose, but not by much.
any ideas what the trouble could be? i will post compression when i get some numbers;
thanks in advance!!
greg
left cylinder not firing correctly ca77
s h double eye tee.well, crap. bad compression numbers in the left cylinder that came up with some oil in the cylinder. crap crap. oh well, i wanted a project.
well, i just got bill silver's dream resto cd in the mail yesterday, and, WOW. what a trove of info. even my wife, whose bike the dream actually is, was stoked to start wrenching! i must say, im not TOTALLY bummed to have to rebuild this motor, i have been wanting to dive a bit deeper into the innards of a motor for a while. i have some other projects to finish first, but when i get going i will put up a resto log for any interested parties enjoyment. see you soon!
