cam chain tensioner oil leakage

Post by goudreignet » Mon May 04, 2009 1:20 pm

After the rebuild of my CB77, I am breaking in the engine, the engine is oil tight except for the cam chain tensioner.
Oil is coming out of the back of the tensioner, along the tensioner shaft.
Is there a way to cure this?

Appreciate your thoughts on this

O-RING DIMENTION

Post by FAST FRED » Tue May 05, 2009 1:45 pm

FRED, THE O-RING PART NUMBER FROM HONDA IS 91306-259-000 IT'S 7.4X2.4MM. ITS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN THE US. THE CLOSEST O-RING STILL AVAILABLE IS 91307-PM7-003 IT'S 7.3X2.2MM. I DON'T THINK THATS CLOSE ENOUGH TO WORK. I'LL PUT THE CORRECT O-RING ON A HONDA CRITICAL SEARCH AND SEE WHAT COMES UP.
