Ignition coil hissing and blowing all the lights

Post by Styleisdead » Sat Mar 14, 2009 8:33 pm

I just got the bike running (still having problems so not ride-able yet)

I noticed right after I got a new battery in, that the ignition coil was hissing... after riding it up and down the street a few times I noticed that the headlight was out (but the bulb still looks good) So I tried the winkers (granted, only the right side was working yesterday) and they're out as well. I haven't gotten the tail light or stop light to work yet and haven't gotten that far on this issue.

Really just wanted to get it running first. But this seems like it might be an issue. Any Ideas? I'm not sure the two things are even related but I thought I should mention it just in case anyone has any suggestions.

If not, I'll keep at it. But like most things I'm learning, I'll do it wrong 5 times before I get it right. If I'm lead in the right direction, I might only do it wrong 3 times before I get it right. And with the amount that I'm working that might mean the difference between riding the bike in the next couple of weeks or in months.

So, just in case anyone anyone could give me a pointer or two, let me say thanks in advance,

Joel
