vin # year verification

Post by pineapple dave » Wed Mar 04, 2009 10:06 am

Just picked up a couple of 305's this weekend and can't wait to get started on them.
One white and the other blue, have not seen many blue ones was that a unpopular color?

1st. question is I would like to verify the vin#'s and see if they are the right year as was sold to me, neither one had title. Frame #'s are CA78-105036 ( 1963 ) CA78-101800 ( 1967 ) ?
2nd. question I posted a request for part prices on this forum is that a active link ?
3rd. question any other dream owners located in Southern Oregon ?

Thanks pineapple dave

Dave, I'm just above Eugene. I have 2 1969 C78's and a '65 CL72. Let me know if I can help. Scram64

That would be great, where are you exactly ? I grew up in Eugene and my parent's still live there plus have 1 kid at U of O and the other at OSU. So I get up that way pretty regularly. Plan on attending the vintage bike show in Corvallis in May. Hopefully can get this '63 in shape for that. The '63 is in pretty decent shape hadn't been run in a year & 1/2 but good compression. Then of course needs the usual rechroming rims, etc. But I think for now I might just get that stuff powder coated and throw a solo seat on it for a custom look. I can always go back to stock look if I want to later. Was surprised the mufflers were good and it still even had the tank badges on it, plus a bonus of hard shell luggage rack. Not a buco rack but still a nice little bonus. If you want to get in touch with me my direct email address is pineappledave58@yahoo.com and cell # is 541-643-7780. Next time I am up that way would at least like to check your bikes out. PD
