how do you get rotor off?
how do you get rotor off?I need to slip my case and that is the last thing to do. Do I need a special puller? Any pics would be great. You guys are really helpful, especially LM

Matt
Re: how do you get rotor off?I was in your shoes and was told a trick. Your rear axle shaft is the same threads as the threads in stator so just take bolt out of stator and thread in your axle and use a punch or something else in hole on axle to turn axle. You may have to hold stator with large channel locks or something to hold it and you may have to use hammer to rotate and pop stator loose by tapping on punch on axle shaft. I had an extra shaft to do this so I was not worried about axle damage.
Re: how do you get rotor off?How do you make sure timing marks line up when you put it back on? Do you just screw it on tight?
Re: how do you get rotor off?If you are spliting the case to fix the trans you don't need to pull the rotor.
The rear axle on my bikes are not the correct thread.
Actually to answer the how to question the rotor and crank have a drif key. If ya really are just working on the trans don't remove the cylinders and head and ya won't have to worry about the cam timing. ...........LM

Re: how do you get rotor off?I wasn't going to but when I went to lift the case off it hits the starter gear and rotor, and there is the studs that prevent me from sliding away from the rotor. Any Suggestions?

Matt
