CB72 wiring loom

Post by toastyhamster » Wed Oct 08, 2008 11:43 am

I'm cursing missing a NOS one on ebay, and that's what I'm really after as I already have a good loom, but it's brittle and scruffy.

Re your post on another thread, the Apex wiring harness is fairly reasonable. I've used three of them so far, with the slight annoyance of the Apex bullets and sockets being a bit smaller than original. You'll have to expand his sockets slightly (I use a small tapered punch to spread them a bit), and crimp down your sockets (pliers) to give good contact with his bullets. The only other knock is that the Apex fuse holder is nothing like stock, but with a soldering iron and your old fuse holder, you can change it over easily enough. His harness also includes the extra wires for the winkers, if needed. If not needed, use one of those wires to provide a secure ground from the headlight bucket to the frame (go direct to battery negative, or to one of the starter solenoid or air filter bracket bolts). Cheers, Chase
