Registration or Title Question

Post by scot3784 » Sat Oct 04, 2008 8:24 pm

I have a 1965 Honda Dream CA77 305. Have no paperwork and wondering if there is a process to get a title for my bike.

You can obtain one from Broadway title. Make sure your state dept. of trans. will recognize it,some states don't.

Your state DMV will also have a packet of papers with instructions on how to initiate a title search. It takes the state 30-90 days or so to process, depending on what history you can provide about the bike. If you know who last titled the bike, you can have them sign a form assigning title to you. Good luck.

First question is in which state do you reside? Every state has different regulations, check the local dmv. In Oregon, I call the Dmv and see if it is in the system, I also usually call surrounding states to see if it is in there system. If the bike is not in the system , you can sign a form and for $50.00 and a vin inspection get a title in four weeks in Oregon. Check your dmv first, some like Pennsylvania I here are real sticky. Their is also Its title Service in Las Vegas http://www.its-titles.com/. Do realize I have heard from others and do not know if it is true that California is really scrutinizing Alabama and Maine titles which are where these companies issue titles from usually. They are really looking at these because of discrepancies with Hot Rod titles. I Would check Dmv first and see what they say, it is almost always on their website. If I am off base Please correct me, I hate to give bad info. Just My two Cents

Good Luck,
Kirk

Pa. is very tough when it comes to title work.I found out here in Pa. no paper work/title you are SOL basically.Only other way was to have a judge give a court order for you to get a title on a vehicle.Unless you know someone at the DMV that could look in the microfiche for your title and a previous owner, but good luck with that.

http://www.countyclerkanytime.com/tag_t ... title6.htm,

Here is a link for Tenn. Looks like you have to go through the county clerk.

Thanks,
Kirk
