Final drive ratio !!Final drive ratio !!What final drive ratio do you run. Right now I have a 15 front and a 32 rear sprocket. Top speed is not a big deal, but I want to be able to get on the expressway once and a while and not be over reving!

78 cb750k Caferacer (sort of) Well I live in the boonies with a lot of curvey roads and I prefer a better pickup. I need a new rear sprocket and a chain. I've got my 78 750 for highway rideing if I ever get back to fixing it. Even with a 15 / 32 it's only a 2.13 ratio which seemed a little to high for a smaller engine. Would a 34 tooth on back make it rev to much?? Just curious. I thought I read somewhere that the superhawks need to rev to 5000 rpm's before they start getting into the power range?

The CB77 first came with 15x30 and later changed to 15x32. I ride the 32 and as I can't normanly ride faster than 75 for long distances I like the setup. Some think the 32 will allow a little higher top end speed because the engine can get to the higher revs. Just what one wants I suppose. ...........lm
