superhawk replacement tires

Post by AWILLIAMS64 » Mon Aug 18, 2008 12:43 am

i have been reading and finding all kinds of info about tires for my superhawk, most of the posts go through getting larger sizes, diferent rims etc. I would like to get some recomendations on tires that will fit my bike w/o any other modifications. I would like a "budget" tire, not going to ride it every day and original looks dont really matter that much. I currently have a 2.75x18 on front and a pirelli 4x18 mt53 on rear. I have been looking at tires from here http://www.tiresunlimited.com/ALL%20TIR ... _sport.htm . i have read that a 80/90 for front will work and a 90/90 will work on rear. but they ony have 90/90 for front and rear sizes. Any input on other tires would be great in this price range, maybe a little higher. I live close to the above link so i would like to use them if possible to save on shipping.

today i took off the rear tire, swingarm, chain guide so i am ready for a tire. The brakes looks good, plenty of wear left on them. I am going to clean them up before i put it back together. I am also going to take some more things off so i can rattlecan the frame.

i put an Avon 100/90 roarrunner on the rear and a micheline 2.75 / 18 on the front with tubes.
bought them both at tires unlimited.
the rear is the biggest you can get on without rubbing,i tried a 110/90 it rubbed the fender,
the front looks like stock tire tread.
i only wanted tires to ride on didn't care much about correct match just wanted to get it on the road.

The 100/90 roadrider will work for the rear, too big for the front.

they are not a matching set, the front is close to stock says M38 on sidewall and the rear has kind of a v groove pattern to it like what you linked to.

so i am trying to narrow down my choices., so far 90/90 or 100/90 will work for the rear without any mods to the factory rims? just the 100/90 is a little bigger? and i need no bigger than a 80/90 for the front? would a 90/90 work as well for the front because i am seeing that size for many tires for fronts. sorry about all the ??? just want to make sure before i get the tires.
