c77/c72 oil monograde/multigrade recommended ?

Post by albano.martins » Sat Jun 28, 2008 9:36 am

Hi all !

Which oil is better for a c77 and c72 engine, it's better a monograde oil (sae 30 or sae 40) or a multigrade oil (20W 50) ?

What kind of oil do you put in your bikes ?

Thanks,

Albano Martins

I use non-detergent 30w.

I put in 30w non-detergent for a couple of reasons. #1 is that was the stuff used back then,#2 is that is what is says on my casing, #3 is I pretty sure Loud Mouse recommends it.
The only problem with this is Bill Slivers book says to use multi grade detergent. I forgot exactly what he said, but it wasn't 30w. The one thing I know for sure is that it's far better to have some kind of oil in it than none!
