will 3.50 x 16" tires fit?

i have the same seat. i'm mocking up a custom bracket now that will hook into the front like the original seat frame and bolt through the 2 pre-existing frame holes behind the seat. it wil have a crossmember to support the bottom of the springs, and have a wider adjustment range for front-to-back. it will swoop down on either side of the frame so as to not increase the seat height significantly, but have adjustability to do so if necessary. I hope to machine them complete from solid aluminum stock, but may end up being made from steel in the end ( i can scrounge up steel, will have to buy the aluminum.) I intend to make half a dozen or so if anyone else is in need. the material cost will be pretty low, and with cnc machining the majority or the work is in setup/programming and redundant parts can be spit out rapidly after the 1st is proven out. this is one of the last couple projects i have left on my bike, so ill hopefully be getting to it in the next 2-3 weeks. the mock-up is already in process.
i think the worst part of the cheap seat is the front of the bracket that requires tank removal for seat change/adjustment. horrible design.

OK, i found some bargain 3.25 x 16" tires for $24 each. they are kings brand, and are rated over
100mph. they should be here in a few days. here's a link.

Does anyone know the answer the original question?

Will the 3.5 x 16's work without rubbing?

99% certain they will work.
i went with 100/90-16, which should be closer to 3-1/4", and there is way more than 1/8" clearance on each side.

I run 350-16 on my 1964 CA77 Nankang Brand. No rubbing.
