Compression test? May I recommend when you check the valves on the bad side that you remove the adjuster screws and check for FLAT SPOTS on the face end. If you find any a piece of 600 wet or dry can be drawn across the end in an arc to dome the end again and when you adjust the clearance you will be spot on. .................lm
Compression checks out the same on both sides, although it does seem low at 90psi. I havent checked the valve gaps lately but I did look for flat spots before installing them a few months ago. I think they tappets are fine but may need adjusting.
On a completely unrelated topic, I have pulled the front wheel to clean it up before my new tires arrive this week and plan to repack the bearings before putting it back together. I notice that there are 2 rubber seals, 1 on each side of the axle, for retaining the grease. They appear to be in good condition but I did have a LOT of grease accumulation on the outside of the speedo sending unit. There is also what I would call a ribbed o-ring around the outside of the speedo sending unit housing. Can these seals be replaced? The dont come out easily and I dont want to destroy them if I wont be able to find replacements.
