Hi
My CB72 has just succumbed to the worn kickstart shaft problem, leaving the kickstart trying to
rotate with the gears and I don't have time to pull the engine and replace it before heading to France on it.
I have 2 questions I'm hoping people can help with:-
1. I'm planning to remove the kickstart gears from the R/H cover and rely on the electric starter
or bump start it ... anyone aware of any problems with this ?
2. Has anyone developed a proper engineering solution to this ? Is there a needle roller that can
be made to fit ( if necessary by a proper machine shop rather than my amateur attempts with a
lathe ) ? I've got an unworn shaft but was saving that for a 305, and presumably it will eventually
do the same thing again.
Any advice/thoughts welcome,
cheers

Worn Kickstart Shaft
Re: Worn Kickstart Shaftdon't remove the gears and spring from the rh cover, these are needed to hold the kickstart wratched in its stowed position inside the gearbox otherwise the kickstart wratched will wearout rapidly fred
