JIS doesn't start until you get 5mm and below. There are other sources as well online such as www.chromebolt.com. I have another source I have book marked on my work PC I can send tomrrow. Cleveland should have a number of bolt suppliers for most of your needs. Gary '65 CL77 Owner

Most of the listings I see on parts lists have the diameter and length but no pitch, does that mean there is a standard pitch such as "1" ? Thanks in advance. -DC
depending upon the year of your bike ... i know on my '65 ca77 everything was Old JIS. Everything new conforms to the DIN standard. New stuff labelled 'JIS' also complies to the new DIN standard, not the Old JIS. Other than 6MM everything has changed in pitch, therefore anything other than 6mm can't be bought off the shelf. The only exception i'm finding to this is that the new DIN standard for fine threads corresponds to the Old JIS standard coarse threads - for some sizes over 8MM. I have a complete chart on my pc at work and can give more details tomorrow if you like.
interestingly enough when you buy most metric tap and die sets they have the new ISO standard pitches and the old JIS style pitched. For example, the new 5mm DIN is a .8mm pitch, while the Old JIS is .9mm pitch. metric tap/die set came with taps and dies for 5-.8 & 5-.9. Nice to have handy if for nothing else cleaning out 40 year old threads. i've been tossing around the idea of doing some short production runs of Old JIS fasteners at work ... stuff this small really isn't our forte but still more than capable. if i can drum up some interest from others it might make push me towards it .... after i finish my current ca77 project. can't see going through all the hassle just to make a handful of bits for my bike alone. There are a few 10mm x 1.50 pitch bolts and some 10mm x 1.25 bolts on the scrambler. I know the shock mount bolts and I believe the headlight bucket mounting bolts are 10mm x 1.25 and I ordered them from Chromebolt.com. http://www.mmsacc-stainless.com also has most of the metric sizes in stainless and I ordered several times from them. Thery are good people and were very responsive. Most (not 100%) of the m6 and m8 bolts are standard pitch (1.0 and 1.25 respectively). You'll only find JIS on the 5mm and smaller threads. On some of the non pressure applications you can re tap the threads to standard metric and not have a problem but others you may have to find JIS screws to do the job. Gary '65 CL77 Owner
bolts and nutstry bikebandit.com they have a lot of nuts, bolts, washers etc for the 305's. you'll have to try either 66 or 67 on the year, I cant remember which. I just bought 400.00 worth of hardware, seals petcock kits etc. They still offer quite a bit of stuff. You can get all the seals except the crank seal which westernhillshonda have in stock. The seals are a lot cheaper than buying those nos kits on fleabay. nutt
