To Replace Seals or Not? And How Difficult?Rotor must be removed to replace crank seal. Remove the 2 nuts, with the engine plate bracket from the top case. Flip engine over, and remove all nuts and bolts. Gently pry cases apart. You will find that all of the trans parts, and the crank have remained in the upper case. Now is a good time to take detailed pictures. Take a gear cluster out, and put it back in, noting where the shift fork goes in etc. While your in there, replace the kickstart pawl, spring and pin. These are high wear items, and cheap tp replce. Western hills Honda has them. Xing the gears is really a simple operation, and really makes the bike more ridable. Main thing is to take your time, and make sure everthing is assembled correctly. Feel free to PM me if you get stuck.
