Hi folks, on the subject of clutch plates, i am rebuilding mine right now. I have the friction disks (yes, 5) and wanted to replace the plates. When i removed them, 4 were identical with 7 notches on the inner "ring", while the outer most disk (closer to the transmission) has no notches.
Is that ok to put 5 identical ones? I don't see anything where these notches attach or not. No sure why they r here.
Also, when i look for replacement parts on ebay, i found several one that look similar to mine but they seem to have different part #. Does it make any difference?
Thank you
Cheers
PS: i have a 62 Dream 305 (CA77E-211680)
The more i look online for info, the more confused i get. I see setup with 5 and 6 plates, different part #, plate A, plate B, etc... Is it due to the fact that the total thickness of the clutch plates and friction disk is what matters?
