Stator Crankshaft Bolt Torque

Post by qwispichkn » Sun Oct 21, 2018 1:22 am

Anyone know the torque spec on the stator bolt crankshaft torque spec. None of my manuals list it.
Thanks

Torque setting.

I assume we're talking C/CB/CL72 series?

I've never had one come loose with just sensible hand tightening and certainly never used a torque wrench on one.

If you want a torque setting I'd go somewhere around 14 - 5 ft lbs ( same as the cyl. head and crankcase studs) and you should be OK.

If you're a real worrier you could add a small dab of LOW strength Loctite or similar.

BTW, the bolt from the later CB250/350 engines is much nicer as it has a good thick 'washer' ready machined under the hexagon.
