Information help requiredI have what I know must be simple questions but hopefully you will bear with me. On the front wheel hub on the right hand side above the speedo drive there is a philips head screw, should there be a zerk fitting there? Second, behind the engine cover on the right hand side of the engine there is a chain drive. I assume it is a primary chain driveing the front sprocket. How is that chain lubricated lubricated. Another assumption is that it is is lub'd via the engine oil. It is a 66 CA77. Thanks in advance for any enlightentment.
The screw in the speedo drive is correct as is.
The small chain under the right cover runs from the electric starter to the crank sprocket and is not lubed. The drive chain to the rear wheel is also under that cover- use spray chain lube on it. The primary chain is under the left cover (much larger chain) and runs in the engine oil. 63 CA78
I was always curious (I never use the electric start on bikes so it just skipped my mind) but does the CA72 come with electric start usually?
It wasn't on my wiring diagram and I have no button assembly on the handlebar, but that PBR Tall Boy on the front of the engine looks suspiciously like an electric starter.
