assembling lower cases (hondabond location pic)assembling lower cases (hondabond location pic)Does anyone have a picture of their lower engine cases with hondabond or other sealer on it but before assembly?
I just want too make sure i get it right the first time, I'm a little nervous about putting to little on and having a leak and putting too much on and sealing of an opening that should stay clear. If someone has a photo, that would be helpful. Even a photo marked up with a marker or something would be great. My transmission has been rebuild, now its time too seal it up, just want to make sure I get it right. Brian b - Just do it. Follow the instructions on the Hondabond and make sure the surfaces are absolutely clean. I use red scotchbrite and brake cleaner as a final step. You have to go all the way around the outside perimeter and around all of the bolt holes. Don't forget about the two in the middle that penetrate the upper case. I like to squeeze out maybe six inches at a time and then use a small stiff flux brush and kind of "stipple" it in and get it exactly where I want it. You'll get a feel for it. If you have any questions about a specific area, maybe post a picture and we can look at it.

Re: assembling lower cases (hondabond location pic)How I do it.
First thing I do is get all the nuts/washers/bolts ready to install when I have the contact area coated. Both cases must have clean surfaces . I use latex glove and put small amounts of HONDABOND 4/YAMABOND 4 on the finger tip (your choice which finger) and apply it to the contact surfaces. (apply thin but enough to tell it will seal the surface) (If I can learn by myself you can do it) A small amount spread over and over until I have all contact surfaces covered. Put cases together and tighten with the hardware. Wipe all areas where the sealant is pressed out with a rage/or something and you are done. Easy to do. .................lm
