305 Scrambler 3mm "Big Bore" kit.

Post by JCrimson » Wed Mar 26, 2014 1:08 am

After doing some research, scramblers builds seem a little difficult to find.

I'm in the process of rebuilding my motor, currently it has been bored over to 0.75. Since the liners have some imperfections, I will need to bore it to 1.00 to fix this problem. One of the places I have been looking at is Ohio Cycle. http://www.ohiocycle.com/catalog.html
According to Ohio Cycle, they carry 1.00mm pistons for the CA77 not the CL77, which is the Dream, but they do not carry piston rings for the 1.00mm CA77 or CL77. The parts that they seem to have for the CL77 is a 3.00mm "big bore" kit. Has anyone used this? Will it have any negative effects on the motor? How interchangeable are the motor parts from a CL77, CA77, or CB77?

Another option is keeping the 0.75 pistons, cleaning them up, purchasing new liners and having them bored to 0.75mm, which would be cheaper.

I think you could talk to Hoosier Tom who lives where you live.
Either way what you mention you will need to bore sleeves.
I have 4th over rings and the CA77 "DREAM" piston will increase the compression. ...........lm
