LM told me this one and it worked for me so here you go. There are two bolts sticking out the top of the engine where the painted engine guard goes correct? Take a 2x4 or a piece of hard lumber and a hammer---put the lumber on the bolts and smack it hard with the hammer a few times. It will maybe take a few good smacks but it will come loose. I did this and it took about 10 good whacks and it finally came loose.

Hope that helps.

Don't forget about the two top studs with the 8mm nuts. Loosen those and set the nuts flush to protect the stud threads, and after making sure all bottom nuts and bolts are out, whack the protected studs to loosen the cases. Put a small block of wood over the studs/nuts and hit it.

Just some patience, a razor blade, maybe a soft blow hammer and some finesse.
