Just want to make sure, correct position

Post by zoom » Tue Dec 04, 2012 5:51 pm

THis is a first time Iam rebuilding a four stoke, this motor was in pieces when I got it. Head was cleaned and checked by a pro (factory trained honda mech who loves old cycles), so thats ok. So I'am assuming I got my crank in the right position, (Mag side piston tdc) and my cam is in the right position. This is kind of a dry run before I add a little sealer to O rings and drop the head on and tighten it down . ANother question is does the master link have to be centered also, its off by a tooth, I would assume its close enough. Ill be waiting for a chime in

Yes that's right, mark on the cam sprocket at 12:00, pointer on the "T". Doesn't matter where you put the master link, where you have it is just the most convenient.
