Missing part, maybe

Post by small dreams » Mon Mar 07, 2011 7:31 pm

Hello, I'm new to forum and am working on a late 1967 CL77. It was missing a few parts when purchased and I've been working on gathering those. It was missing the top crankcase cover so I found one of those. Now I find the square hole on the right side through which an ear passes. My ear has a screw and wingnut on it. I've checked my manuals and found the ear, but find no reference to what it's for. Maybe another model? If anyone know I'd be very grateful. Thanks.

Gary,
That ear is a holder for a spare screw and wingnut. Never know when you may need a spare.

I too have a '67 CL77. Ear is not used on our bikes. On my bike the wingnut resides on top of the seat.

regards,
Rob

Gary,
Welcome to the nut house, and thank you for not making us ask for your location and as it turns out it may come in handy for you as we're not all that far apart. We do have a couple cl nuts in this neck of the woods so if you need help or parts, don't be shy. PM me if you need things to keep her up to speed.

Rob, On my bike the wingnut resides on top of the seat.
Well put old chum, These days we need a sense of humor even if it is at ourselves.

Ride hard, this year, Rusty

Gary, welcome to the asylum. I live up the road from you in "T" town. I have a 66 CL that is fairly well sorted out.I believe that "ear" is for the clamshell carb cover on Dreams. PM me if you have any questions.........................D
