Just pulled my head today to solve an oil weep and discovered that it was from the o-rings.
This "weep" actually started after I rebuilt the motor and installed it in the frame, thought it was just residual oil from the assembly.
Put about 600 miles on this past fall- not an oil leak, but a weep just the same. Knock pins are in place, but I believe that the head gasket may be a pinch thick for the o-rings to seal properly.
I'll have to measure the gasket's thickness. A few questions:
1. Has anyone else had this experience?
2.How much thicker should the o-ring be than the head gasket?
3.Are thicker o-rings available?
4.Should I have used a sealer on the o-rings?
Thanks for your help and comments.
