Are after market valves and standard size rings available? Are after market valves and standard size rings available? Are after market valves and rings available? I seem to remember seeing the valve listed on some website but now i can't seem to find it again.

Do NOT (ever, ever, ever) get aftermarket valves unless you can essentially watch them being made for you or are by a VERY trusted supplier. The old Honda valves were built to an incredibly high standard and are worth finding NOS versions of.
Here's my experience with that whole valve mess... http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php ... #msg244460 ...on the topic of rings, yes, call classichondarestorations.com. The guys there know their stuff and have many parts in their shop that aren't posted online. Best thing you can do is talk to one of them and just ask them questions or advice on issues. apexcycle valvesI have seen a few horror stories here about apexcycle valves, but are there any success stories about people using there valves and having there bike run fine?

In both videos on DTT it sounds like the valves are hitting the pistons. A good motor does not sound like that.
For a valve to snap a stem it would have to be very brittle. It might be worth getting a local college or university to check for stem hardness on an APEX valve and an old OEM valve and then have them stretch both to destruction and compare the results. Do you have any more pictures of the valves and or pistons from that failed motor? It's clear that there was contact but what's not clear is the sequence of events. Valves drop heads on old stock 2 piece valves when they are constantly over-revved but that's not the case we're dealing with here. I'm intrigued.
I had Jim Rieger take a look at them, he's been racing these things since they were new. He took one look at the broken valve from Apex and immediately said that they are over head treated and became brittle. I'd rather not spend time looking around and figuring out scientifically what's gone wrong. A stock car engine builder, two people that used to build racing Superhawks back in the day, a drag motor builder, and one of my personal race engineers have seen what's happened and all agree that it is the valve breaking if everything else is intact and timed after the collision. I've heard many people complaining about products bought from Apex and I'm just one of a long list of disappointed customers. There is NO reason to buy the Apex valves. Don't do it.
