Breather plate shield

Post by silverclerk@gmail.com » Sun Feb 13, 2011 8:28 pm

Hey all,
The breather plate shield and the breather plate shield gasket has 2 little rectangular cut-outs, should they be closer to the rear of the motor or the front? Also, what is their purpose?
Thanks

Do you mean the plate that covers the valves? If so I learned a very tough lesson on this one. They go to front of the engine. They are oil drain holes. If you put it the other way you will have oil blowing out your breather hose. (see my thread ,"engine blow by")
