Where is the oil filter?

Post by LittleRock » Sat Oct 08, 2005 9:21 pm

Okay, this may be dumb, but where is the oil filter on the 305. What does it look like? Do I clean it out, replace it, or what?
Thanks for any info. Terry

It is on the left side inside the clutch cover case.
It is driven by a small chain. You will need to knock the end cap out and remove all the black carbon looking stuff.
Pay special attention to the steel washer when you put the filter back on the shaft. The washer goes on the shaft and then the filter. ...............LM

Thanks for the help on the oil filter, I did as you said and cleaned it out, I never would have figured that one out. I didn't see much of a filter but there was some sludge inside.
