Gentlemen, can you help?
Gentlemen, can you help?I am looking to buy a 305 Super Hawk but not quite sure which model.
My wife wants: white wall tyres preferably red, with lots of bling (would that be the Dream) I want just a collectable bike to join my CX500 & 1953 Royal Enfield Bullet. It's time to join you; In the sixties even the 250cc Honda's would overtake my Norton Dominator 88 without any considerations!! I am quite prepared to come to America (up until now, always to busy working to travel) now I have time so, can someone please: a. clarify what I am looking for & b. direct me towards one? CB77 = sporty twin with tubular frame C77 / CA77 = touring 'Dream' with small wheels and sheet metal frame. Search the threads on here and you'll see some pics. Also look on craigslist and you might see some nice US models. I bought a CB160 (miniature CB77) from Craigslist earlier this year. http://newyork.craigslist.org/mcy/ Cheers G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

The dream is a model,, ie a ca77 honda 305 Dream then theres the scrambler, a cl77 Honda 305 Scrambler. scrambler had high pipes and frame member down front of engine for more support off road, larger front tire. Superhawk was low pipes and a "street" model for speed. dream was a pressed sheet metal frame and quasi springer front end, smaller tires, and made for touring. very very soft ride. single carb lower performance. two cl77, three cb77, ca77, ca72, cb160, s65 and cb750

Welcome along here, John. Grab a seat, we'll plug it in........
Plenty of CBs (Super Sport -- UK, Super Hawk -- US) around in both the countries. More expensive (less of them) in the UK; similar dollar/GBP figures (US$3.5 in US/GB£3.5 in UK for a really nice one, I should think). UK imported fewer C/CA models, so possibly more desirable in future years? Scores, perhaps hundreds, of both in the US are still running. Many for sale, but don't buy on impulse. A lovely bike to ride and simple to maintain. You have a CX500? Ooooooo, lumpy vee! Any 305 derivative (CB, C/CA or CL (scrambler) will be smoother! And I hate that hemi-cylindrical taillight; my old CB750KZ had the same one.
