Rings

I noticed a "N" stamped on one side of my rings.Is this used to denote the top side?I see the middle ring has a notch out that goes down, but the top ring and bottom rings seem the same to the naked eye to me.Is there a top and bottom to these?thanks

All the rings will have something stamped/pressed into the top side on one or both ends. ..........lm
